Weekly Update

Hey Everybody,

This week as been full of some amazing miracles. The Lord truly has a hand in his missionary work. To start off with we found another family to teach. They lived in Taylor before, but moved a way for a time. Now they are back and are wanting to get baptized. They brought a friend back to live with them as well. He is homeless, but is living with the family for a while. They are all super interested in learning more about the gospel and being baptized. They all are living with our WML in 2nd ward right now. The Father wants to have a gospel discussion for an hour everyday. While we were at church Sunday he read through about 60 pages of the Teachings from the Prophet Ezra Taft Benson book. He has his own Quad now as well. They are definitely super prepared. He quit drinking as of last Monday and is getting off cigarettes as well. He really wants to change his life around.

We also started meeting with a 15 year old boy this week. His dad is a returning Less active. The son has had the missionary lessons 3 times now and is a little hesitant about hearing them again. We told them we would be back weekly to just share a message each week. We invited him to basketball that same night and he showed up. He is really opening up to us. Also he came to Church Sunday as well. It was the first time the son has been to church since I have been here and I think a while before that. He really seems to like us and opens up a lot to us. All of the Young Men love him as well. Hunter wants to go on a mission as well when he is older.

The Drakes are doing good as well. We went over the 10 Commandments and Obeying and Honoring the Law with them as well. They are progressing a lot and Brother Drake is opening a lot to us. Brother Drake also went to a shotgun shooting get together that the Elders Quorum was putting on. He is definitely being fellowshiped good at church.

We were also able to meet with a YSA LA this week. It was really cool because he opened up a lot to us. He told us about his struggles and why he doesn't come to church. He opened up about how difficult it is to go to YSA because there are those there that make fun of him behind his back. He said he has no idea why he told us his story, but we know that the spirit prompted him to. We are going to defiantly try and help him want to come to church not for the social aspect, but for the spiritual aspect especially the sacrament.

We also were able to go to the Temple this week! It was such a awesome experience. I love going to the Temple so much. I was able to get a lot of my Questions and concerns answered. There is just so much peace that comes from the temple and performing those saving ordinances for our deceased ancestors.

Love,
Elder Kennedy
