Weekly Update

Hey Everybody,

This week as been a pretty awesome week. I was sick Monday and Tuesday with this crappy Flu that is going around here. It was pretty much miserable, but I am over it now. We had interviews with President this week. That went really good. Its always a lifter upper when you get a one on one with President. We have the best mission President in the whole world.

We started meeting with a family that wants to be baptized, but just has some Word of Wisdom issues. My trainer actually was the missionary that started teaching this family when he was here a while back. The family moved away for a little bit, but is back now and is willing to take the lessons.

We also had the missionary music fireside up here for the Youth. A whole bunch of youth showed up to it. It was so awesome and the Spirit was so strong. There were some really good talks and a whole lot of amazing musical performances there. Super awesome.

It was just a really awesome week full of miracles. I love being a missionary. We also learned that we will be getting IPads soon. So that Is exciting news.

Well I hope all is well with yall. Love you all.

Watch the new Easter Video that the church has put out. It is found at http://www.mormon.org/easter Go watch it. It is so uplifting and amazing. #becausehelives

Well I love you all. Have another amazing great week. We have transfers coming up so I wont be emailing until Wednesday of next week. Well keep being awesome and sharing the Gospel.

Weekly Update

Hey Everybody,

This has been a pretty awesome week. I got sick Saturday with a Flu-ish thing that I still have. It is getting better though. We had Stake Conference on Saturday and Sunday. We only went to the Saturday session because I was just feeling to sick for the other session. A lot of What was mentioned in it was how we need to love those that we want to share the gospel with. That when they know we are sharing out of a true desire to help them then they will be more likely to accept. It was also mentioned how good you do feel when you share the gospel with someone and they do accept it. There is so much joy in sharing the gospel.

Well I hope everything is going well with y'all. I am so glad to be able to serve a mission right now. I find so much joy in sharing this gospel with those around me.

Love you all.

Weekly Update

Hey Everybody,

This week as been full of some amazing miracles. The Lord truly has a hand in his missionary work. To start off with we found another family to teach. They lived in Taylor before, but moved a way for a time. Now they are back and are wanting to get baptized. They brought a friend back to live with them as well. He is homeless, but is living with the family for a while. They are all super interested in learning more about the gospel and being baptized. They all are living with our WML in 2nd ward right now. The Father wants to have a gospel discussion for an hour everyday. While we were at church Sunday he read through about 60 pages of the Teachings from the Prophet Ezra Taft Benson book. He has his own Quad now as well. They are definitely super prepared. He quit drinking as of last Monday and is getting off cigarettes as well. He really wants to change his life around.

We also started meeting with a 15 year old boy this week. His dad is a returning Less active. The son has had the missionary lessons 3 times now and is a little hesitant about hearing them again. We told them we would be back weekly to just share a message each week. We invited him to basketball that same night and he showed up. He is really opening up to us. Also he came to Church Sunday as well. It was the first time the son has been to church since I have been here and I think a while before that. He really seems to like us and opens up a lot to us. All of the Young Men love him as well. Hunter wants to go on a mission as well when he is older.

The Drakes are doing good as well. We went over the 10 Commandments and Obeying and Honoring the Law with them as well. They are progressing a lot and Brother Drake is opening a lot to us. Brother Drake also went to a shotgun shooting get together that the Elders Quorum was putting on. He is definitely being fellowshiped good at church.

We were also able to meet with a YSA LA this week. It was really cool because he opened up a lot to us. He told us about his struggles and why he doesn't come to church. He opened up about how difficult it is to go to YSA because there are those there that make fun of him behind his back. He said he has no idea why he told us his story, but we know that the spirit prompted him to. We are going to defiantly try and help him want to come to church not for the social aspect, but for the spiritual aspect especially the sacrament.

We also were able to go to the Temple this week! It was such a awesome experience. I love going to the Temple so much. I was able to get a lot of my Questions and concerns answered. There is just so much peace that comes from the temple and performing those saving ordinances for our deceased ancestors.

Weekly Update - #ITSMYBIRTHDAY‏

Hey Everybody,

This week has been pretty good. We are teaching a family who are progressing very well. Well they came to church this week so that was a huge miracle. We taught them the commandments of keeping the Sabbath day holy, reading the scriptures daily, and praying daily. They have had some amazing experiences with prayer. They opened up a lot during this lesson.

It was my birthday on Thursday as well. I had a awesome Birthday. One of our members made me a awesome white chocolate pie on my birthday and then yesterday made me a huge white chocolate cake. They are so awesome! My district also got me a birthday cake and a tie as well. They call the tie the Authority tie. ha ha. This week we were able to do a lot of service for members. I just love doing service. It makes you feel really good after. Mosiah 2:17.

Well things are going fantastic here. Hope all is well with y'all. Love y'all.

Weekly Update

Dear Everybody,

It was transfers week. So Elder Brown had was transferred down to the valley yesterday. My new companions name is Elder Bumgarner. He has been out about 21 months now. He is super awesome. It is funny we are a lot alike in some things.

My Dad (Trainer) Elder Jackson went home on Monday. So we had a funeral for him. We got a casket from some members that own a mortuary and made a cake for Elder Jackson. We made him lie in the casket since he is, what we call in the mission field dying (going home). He trained me down in Scottsdale. It was so sad to see him go.

It has been a pretty good week and a half though. We have been able to do a lot service and just help a lot of people out. We did a lot of biking because we were way short on miles. So I think I am getting a little bit skinnier. Things are going good here though!

Well love you all. Hope all is going well.
Thanks for everything.
Love,
Elder Kennedy
